Peter and I started Artisan Ape in the middle of the year as a side project, and it has been amazing to see the response from friends around Australia and globally. We’ve enjoyed documenting the cars that have maybe gone under the radar and highlight bits and pieces of Sydney’s scene that we appreciate. With COVID restrictions ending we thought it was appropriate to organise a small catch up at Go Garage.
Rick and Richard and Jack are part of our little Track Day Facebook chat, love the details they all put into their builds.
Then came the S2000 brigade… That’s a lot of money right there!
Eddie, Jun and the VG Wrap Group lads brought their impressive machinery along, loved Moses’ Mugen DC5R.
It wasn’t anything too crazy, just a small, private event with our friends, and for us it was important to create an ego-free, relaxed environment where they could come down with their cars, grab a quick bite and chill before getting on with their day.
We love a well-sorted track car, it doesn’t need to be much!
Marc came with his new set up, white Regamasters which we both agreed matched the blue better than the bronze TEs.
A bunch of cool oozing out of these three…
Dan’s immaculate Evo chassis slotted right at home next to a couple other WRC heroes.
Josh rocking mis-matched wheels to clear his new BBKs from Stoptech. Bling bling!
Don’t think there is much we need to talk about, but Peter managed a mega photo dump, so be sure to browse through the pictures.
Go Garage new stock, the yellow is a nice touch, be sure to pay a visit and check it out while it lasts…
Although not the biggest fan of Moses’ latest wheels, the rest of the car has always been on point.
This shot makes it look like the turbos dominated on the day…
Until you panned and realised it was a closet Honda meet!
Phillip fits in with both.
S2000s don’t need much…
David has done a bit more though.
Wish we were able to shoot Jack’s K24 DC2R this year but time was always our enemy. Next year!
We had a great time and are grateful for the support that our little platform has gained, and have ideas for how we can improve and what we should bring to the game next year!
Steven’s car remains one of the coolest 86s we’ve seen!
Stanley doesn’t mess about with his builds, the key to determining a good build they say is to check brakes…
Kyle’s BNR34, straight out of the paint booth for a couple minor touch ups and a colour-matched hood.
Had a great afternoon, a good way to introduce the holiday season!
Until then, hope everybody has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
